Antonio was born in 1908 in the city of Córdoba in Argentina. He graduated as a Medical Surgeon and became one of the most prestigious one in South America. However, it was for his great work: "El Dogo Argentino" that his name became known in the world.
He was a great dog-fancying and hunting lover, a tireless traditionalist and, above all things, a great scientist. From a very young age, he had a concern: to manage to concentrate on a dog breed, a set of virtues that he saw embodied in different dogs.
The ideal dog for Dr Nores was a dog of extreme tranquillity, with great courage, resistance and that was able to give its life for its owner.
For the formation of the dogo, he added qualities of different breeds that at that time were used for dogfighting: the old Córdoba fighting dog, the Bulldog, the Bull Terrier and others of great working capacity such as the Pyrenean Mastiff, the Boxer, the Great Danes, the Irish Wolfhound and the Pointer.
Nores performed the crossings with different families to avoid consanguinity and to eliminate most of the atavistic characters and fix what he considered necessary.
In 1947 he managed to present this new breed in the province of San Luis, putting in combat one of his dogos "Aña" against the hog and the cougar.
Since the death of its creator, the family has maintained its bloodlines, but with a priority that we consider essential to keep any species alive, which is functional gymnastics.
In a short time, the dogo Argentino managed to reach the most remote places in the world. And his fame goes with it. It is said that those who have a dogo at some point in their life end up dying with one since no breed has demonstrated the exceptional qualities of the dogo Argentino.
In 1989, Dr Ulises D'Andrea Nores took over the kennel by increasing the number of breeders and working on the big game function. Ten years later, Jorge Alberto Funes joined the management, they are both international judges of the breed. It was not until 2017 that the ownership of the kennel was transferred to Ulises and Jorge.
